Objective: A majority of small size kidney in children were diagnosed after a urinary tract infection (UTI) and with high-grade vesicoureteral reflux (VUR). This study was conducted in children who were diagnosed accidentally and investigated for VUR and UTI.

Background: Routinely separating the ligamentum teres uteri (LTU) intraoperatively remains an unresolved issue for female children undergoing surgery for indirect inguinal hernia (IIH).

Aim: To identify the effect of LTU preservation in laparoscopic high hernia sac ligation (LHSL) in children with IIH.

Methods: The participants were 100 female children with unilateral IIH admitted from April 2022 to January 2024 to the Pediatric Surgery Department of Zhangzhou Municipal Hospital of Fujian Province.

 Minimally invasive Ponto surgery (MIPS) enables the installation of percutaneous bone-anchored hearing implants (BAHIs) with a drill guide through a hole punch incision. Background: There has been increased interest in lateral extra-articular procedures, such as anterolateral ligament reconstruction (ALLR) or lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET), to reduce anterolateral rotation instability of the knee after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Despite promising surgical outcomes with these techniques, their impact on knee strength recovery is unknown.

Hypothesis: Patients undergoing lateral extra-articular procedures at the time of ACLR would have impaired thigh muscle strength at 6 to 9 months after surgery.
