Primary thyroid lymphomas comprise largely extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (EMZL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), followed by follicular lymphoma (FL). They commonly develop from a background of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), where dysregulated immune responses trigger autoreactive infiltrates and drive clonal B-cell evolution. To understand how these lymphomas and their relapse evolve, we investigated 10 cases by mutation profiling, including five with metachronous lymphomas [primary lymphoma (EMZL = 4, DLBCL = 1) with local relapse (EMZL = 3, DLBCL = 2)], one composite EMZL and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive DLBCL, and four lymphomas (EMZL = 3, FL = 1) with prior or subsequent biopsy showing HT.

Cancer survivors have an increased risk of developing second primary malignancies. We aimed to identify whether certain cancers lead to an increased risk of developing melanoma among cancer survivors. We evaluated the risk of developing cutaneous melanoma after the 20 most common cancers in the United States through the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database.

Background: As the survival proportions for rare cancers are on average worse than for common cancers, assessing the expected remaining life years in good health becomes highly relevant. This study aimed to estimate the healthy life expectancy (HLE) of a subset of rare and common cancer survivors, and to assess the determinants of poor perceived health in rare cancer survivors.

Methods: To calculate HLE, survival data from the population-based Netherlands Cancer Registry of survivors of a rare cancer (i.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzed age-standardized incidence rates (ASRs) of various cancers in Isfahan province, Iran, using data from a local cancer registry covering 2014 to 2018.
  • The registry recorded 42,994 new cancer cases, with a majority being males, and showed strong quality indicators, such as a high microscopic verification rate.
  • The most common cancers included prostate and bladder cancers in men, and breast cancer in women, with higher incidence rates for leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma compared to national averages, indicating potential links to environmental factors in an industrial setting.
