The pharmacokinetics of intravenously-administered diazepam have been studied in heterozygous (non-jaundiced) and homozygous (jaundiced) Gunn rats following single doses of 10 mg/Kg. Plasma concentration time course data from heterozygous and homozygous animals can be described adequately by biexponential equations. A faster plasma clearance rate (Clp) and shorter elimination half life (t 1/2) as well as reduced volumes of distribution [Vp and Vd(area)] were observed in homozygous animals. These potential effects of bilirubin on the distribution and elimination of diazepam should be considered if diazepam is to be used in the therapy of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.

It has been shown to exert cytolytic activity against a wide variety of microbes: bacteria, fungi, yeast and protozoa. Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 (DM1) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destruction of beta cells in the pancreas. Although amyloid formation has been well-studied in Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DM2), its role in DM1 remains unclear. Understanding how islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP) contributes to beta cell dysfunction and death in DM1 could provide critical insights into disease mechanisms and pave the way for novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Methods: The present study aimed to comprehensively explore the ROH and ROHet patterns and hotspots in Greek native dairy goats, Eghoria and Skopelos, genotyped with the Illumina Goat SNP50 BeadChip. SNP and functional enrichment analyses were conducted to further characterize hotspots and the candidate genes located within these genomic regions.
