Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) occurs in up to 70%-80% of patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Oral vancomycin therapy (OVT) has been reported to be effective in the treatment of IBD associated with PSC (IBD-PSC).
Objectives: To examine the effectiveness and safety of OVT in the treatment of IBD-PSC by performing a systematic review and pooled analysis of the literature.

Obesity and its related metabolic disorders seriously threaten our health and significantly reduce our life expectancy. The aim of the present study was to explore the effects of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity mice. The results demonstrated that BMSCs significantly reduced body weight, improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in obese mice.

Background: Rare variants in melanocortin 4 receptor gene (MC4R) result in a severe form of early-onset obesity; however, it is unclear how these variants may affect abdominal fat distribution, intrahepatic fat accumulation, and related metabolic sequelae.
Methods: Eight hundred seventy-seven youth (6-21 years) with overweight/obesity, recruited from the Yale Pediatric Obesity Clinic in New Haven, CT, underwent genetic analysis to screen for functionally damaging, rare variants (MAF < 0.01) in MC4R.

Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects multiple organ systems, including the esophagus. Moreover, one of the major side effects of methotrexate (MTX) is gastrointestinal disorders, which are said to affect medication adherence. We investigated the rate of MTX use, dosage, and the use of glucocorticoids (GCs) and oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in relation to gastroesophageal (GE) symptoms, and whether they influence RA disease activity.

Hydrophobic chemotherapy drugs face significant challenges in cancer treatment, including low bioavailability, unavoidable toxic side effects, and the development of drug resistance. To address these issues, a multifunctional nanoplatform was developed for cancer therapy, aimed at achieving effective drug delivery and enhancing antitumor efficacy. polysaccharide (PCP), a natural polymer known for its immunomodulatory properties, was utilized as an immunoreactive vector for drug delivery after being cross-linked with 1,4-phenylenebisboronic acid (BDBA).
