The gold standard method of diagnosis of oral leukoplakia (OLK) is a tissue biopsy followed by histological examination. Raman spectroscopic studies of cytological brush biopsy and saliva samples have previously been shown to differentiate low (no and mild dysplasia) and high risk (moderate and severe dysplasia) OLKs, discriminant models of cellular samples achieving higher specificity, whereas those based on saliva samples achieved higher sensitivity. The current study combines the spectral data sets of cell and saliva samples in an attempt to improve the overall efficiency of the discriminating models.

In recent decades, interest in non-traditionally colored eggs has increased. For breeders, this market interest means breeding lines of laying hens that lay eggs of varied colors, such as the blue-green eggshells (Dominant Greenshell) in this study. This study presents the results of genotyping the polymorphism of the O locus responsible for shell coloration and photometric measurement of eggshell color based on the CIELAb system, which was carried out on the unique Czech breeding population Dominant Greenshell.

What Was The Educational Challenge?: The objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is used extensively in health and medical education to assess clinical competence. While OSCEs are not primarily designed for individual feedback, they provide an opportunity to generate meaningful and constructive feedback that students can use to reflect on areas of weakness (and strength). The most timely and effective way to incorporate individual feedback following a summative OSCE continues to be explored.
