However, concerns have risen regarding the development of bacterial resistance to chlorhexidine. Polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) combined with Tris-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (Tris-EDTA) has recently emerged as a skin and wound antiseptic.

Background: Intraoperative femoral fractures are a rare, but serious complication of primary total hip arthroplasty (THA), and little is known about the rates of complications and reoperations in these patients. The objective of this investigation was to describe the two-year outcomes and revision rates in patients who sustain an intraoperative femoral fracture during THA.
Methods: A large administrative claims database was queried for patients who sustained an intraoperative femoral fracture during primary and elective THA from 2015 to 2022.

Synovial fistula of the knee occurs when a defect in the joint capsule creates a connection between skin, bursa, and a near tissue, manifesting as an opening with continuous draining fluid or a cyst. This is a case of an 80-year-old male who developed a synovial fistula with cystic presentation 6 years after the primary total knee arthroplasty. Management included a total knee arthroplasty revision surgery with intraoperative identification of the fistula with methylene blue, and using a gelatin-thrombin matrix for closure.

Introduction: Folate receptors (FR) have been considered a convenient target for different radiopharmaceuticals in recent years. Multifarious Ga-labeled folate conjugates have been proposed as promising agents for the PET imaging of FR-overexpressing malignant neoplasms. In addition, radiolabeled folate-based conjugates can be effective for imaging non-tumor pathological foci characterized by a pronounced cluster of activated macrophages.
