Aim: This study intended to explore associations of reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) with emotional disturbances and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) after experiencing acute ischemic stroke (AIS).
Materials And Methods: Serum samples from individuals with AIS were collected on admission to three Lithuania stroke centers and investigated for free tetraiodothyronine, free triiodothyronine (fT3), rT3, and thyroid stimulating hormone levels. At discharge, emotional disturbance was evaluated using the Hospital Depression and Anxiety Scale (HADS), and HRQoL using the EQ-5D-5L scale.
High temperature induces the upward shift of the thermal neutral zone and decreases metabolic capacity in zebra finches.

The thermal neutral zone (TNZ) represents a fundamental concept in the thermal physiology of homeothermic organisms. TNZ is characterized as a specific range of environmental temperatures within which the metabolic rate remains at its basal level. Background: The characteristics of blood lipid and metabolic indicators were analyzed in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH), and the effect of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) on SCH patients was determined.
Methods: The physical examination data of 2,119 residents in a university community were retrospectively divided into 2 groups (SCH and non-SCH groups). Furthermore, the SCH group was divided into SCH-T2DM and SCH-non-T2DM subgroups, and the data between the groups were analyzed.

Background: The combination of methimazole and propranolol is considered an effective treatment regimen for hyperthyroidism in clinical practice; however, detrimental effects on the heart rate, bone metabolism and thyroid hormone levels have been reported. Therefore, the present study aimed to systematically review the efficacy and safety differences in patients with hyperthyroidism and the effects of treatment on heart rate, bone metabolism, cortisol, and adrenocorticotropic hormone levels using case-control studies.
Methods: Clinical case-control trials of methimazole combined with propranolol for the treatment of hyperthyroidism were selected from Chinese and English databases, and data were collected from the establishment of the database until August 2024.
