Aim: The aim was to define reference ranges for cerebral oxygen saturation (crSO-ROOT) during immediate transition after birth in stable neonates.
Methods: In a prospective observational study, the crSO-ROOT was continuously measured in neonates during the first 15 min after birth. The neonatal sensor was placed on the head and fixed with a bandage.

Introduction: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is diagnosed with high prevalence. Pulse oximetry and clinical examination are screening tools to aid in obtaining a CHD diagnosis.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective longitudinal study over three years, screening 1188 newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during the first 72 hours of life.

Significance: Pulse oximeter measurements are commonly relied upon for managing patient care and thus often require human testing before they can be legally marketed. Recent clinical studies have also identified disparities in their measurement of blood oxygen saturation by race or skin pigmentation.
Aim: The development of a reliable bench-top performance test method based on tissue-simulating phantoms has the potential to facilitate pre-market assessment and the development of more accurate and equitable devices.

Microcirculation is an essential system that regulates oxygen and nutrients to cells and tissues in response to various environmental stimuli and pathophysiological conditions. Diabetes mellitus can cause microvascular complications including nephropathy, neuropathy, and retinopathy. The pathogenesis of microvascular dysfunction in diabetes is associated with hyperglycemia and the result of an interplay of various factors.

Purpose Bronchiolitis guidelines recommend intermittent pulse oximetry monitoring for stable infants. Continuous pulse oximetry can lead to harm for some infants with bronchiolitis but is still frequently used in emergency departments (EDs) for infants who do not require oxygen supplementation. Measuring continuous pulse oximetry use from medical charts can be challenging.
