The depression of evoked cortical potentials caused by brief periods of cerebral ischemia is attenuated by prior intracarotid injection of cytidoline (2, 4 or 8 mg/kg). Studies performed in hypercapnic cats suggest that the protection afforded by cytidoline is of metabolic rather than hemodynamic origin. The participation of the central dopaminergic structures by the drug is suggested according to the previous data.

Background: Dextrocardia is a rare congenital condition, affecting approximately 1 in 10,000-12,000 individuals. When combined with atrial fibrillation (AF), it becomes even rarer. "One-stop" surgery, including combined radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO), has become a common clinical treatment for patients with AF who develop cerebral infarction despite regular oral anticoagulants.

Infectious intracranial aneurysms (IIAs) are rare lesions with fragile arterial walls located within the aneurysms, carrying a high risk of rupture. Standard management often involves antibiotic therapy and parent artery occlusion; however, the latter carries a significant risk of cerebral infarction. This report presents a case of an unruptured IIA following cerebral infarction, successfully treated with coil embolization while preserving the parent artery.

Thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair remains one of the most challenging procedures and is associated with high mortality and complication rates. Careful consideration of the surgical strategy is essential, particularly in cases involving extensive replacement and high-risk patients. A 61-year-old man with a 55-mm TAAA was referred for surgical treatment.

Introduction: 7,8-Dihydroxyflavone (7,8-DHF) is a promising translational therapy in several brain injury models, including the neonatal hypoxia-ischemia (HI) model in mice. However, the neuroprotective effect of 7,8-DHF was only observed in female, but not male, neonatal mice with HI brain injury. It is unknown whether HI-induced physiological changes affect brain distribution of 7,8-DHF differently for male versus female mice.
