The development of rapid, accurate, sensitive, and low-cost diagnostic methods for COVID-19 detection in real-time is the unique way to control infection sources and monitor illness progression. In this work, we propose an electrochemical biosensor for the rapid and accuracy diagnosis of COVID-19, through the determination of ORF specific sequence. The biosensor is based on the immobilization of a thiolated sequence partially complementary (domain 1) to ORF on gold screen-printed electrodes and the use of bifunctional Au@Pt/Au core@shell nanoparticles modified with a second thiolated sequence partially complementary to ORF (domain 2) as electrochemical indicator of the hybridization of DNA sequences.

X-ray detection is widely used in various applications. However, to meet the demand for high image quality and high accuracy diagnosis, the raw data increases and imposes challenges for conventional X-ray detection hardware regarding data transmission and power consumption. To tackle these issues, we present a scheme of in-X-ray-detector computing based on CsPbBr single-crystal detector with convenient polarity reconfigurability, good linear dynamic range, and robust stability.

Metabolic analysis in biofluids based on laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS), featuring rapidity, simplicity, small sample volume and high throughput, is expected to be a powerful diagnostic tool. Nevertheless, the signals of most metabolic biomarkers obtained by matrix-assisted LDI-MS are too limited to achieve a highly accurate diagnosis due to serious background interference. To address this issue, nanomaterials have been frequently adopted in LDI-MS as substrates.

This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of touch imprint cytology (TIC) for sentinel lymph node (SLN) metastases of patients with clinical node-negative early breast cancer. The PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases were meticulously searched to retrieve literature published from January 2005 to September 2022 by two independent reviewers. The meta-analysis was performed using STATA16.
