It has been shown that the genetic induction of enzyme synthesis by the substrate, like the kinetic induction, may bring about resonance responses in an open biochemical reaction at periodic external disturbances. Joint action of genetic and kinetic inductions broadens the range of the system parameters, where the resonance phenomena are possible. Under the joint action of genetic and kinetic inductions the resonance frequency may be independent of the amplitude of external periodic disturbance.

Introduction: Hospitalisation represents an opportunity to identify and treat e-cigarette use among adolescents and young adults (AYAs). Knowledge on how to provide this care is lacking. We aim to fill this gap by developing an e-cigarette use intervention and evaluating preliminary efficacy and implementation outcomes among hospitalised AYAs.

High anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA) is a common biochemical abnormality in hospitalized patients, often linked to conditions such as lactic acidosis, renal failure, or drug toxicity. A rare etiology, 5-oxoprolinuria, resulting from acetaminophen use, malnutrition, and sepsis, is increasingly recognized in critically ill patients. We report a 29-year-old male with a history of intellectual disability and normal baseline kidney function who was admitted with acute necrotizing pancreatitis and developed severe metabolic acidosis and acute kidney injury (AKI).

Background: Functional abdominal pain disorders (FAPDs) are common in young people and are characterized by persistent or recurrent abdominal symptoms without apparent structural or biochemical abnormalities. FAPDs are associated with diminished quality of life, school absence, increased health care use, and comorbid anxiety and depression. Exposure-based internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) has demonstrated efficacy in alleviating abdominal symptoms and improving quality of life.

: Pathophysiological variability in patients with cancer is associated with differences in responses to pharmacotherapy. In this work, we aimed to describe the demographic characteristics and hematological, biochemical, and coagulation variables in a large oncology cohort and to develop, optimize, and provide open access to modeling equations for the estimation of variables potentially relevant in pharmacokinetic modeling. : Using data from 1793 patients with cancer, divided into training ( = 1259) and validation ( = 534) datasets, a modeling network was developed and used to simulate virtual oncology populations.

Background: Durazz. is one of the most popular herbs used for depression treatment, but the molecular basis for its mechanism of action has not been fully addressed. Previously, we isolated and identified two lignan glycoside derivatives that were shown to noncompetitively inhibit serotonin transporter (SERT) activity but with a relatively low inhibitory potency compared with those of conventional antidepressants.
