Objective: The objective of our study was to determine the prevalence of anaemia among 14-19 years school going girls, risk factors for it and profile of micronutrient status among rural girls from western state of India.
Design: Using a cross-sectional design, we obtained information on socio-demography, menstruation, dietary habits, knowledge and daily consumption of the government recommended iron and folic acid (IFA) tablets, and anthropometry. Blood was collected to assess Hb, red blood cell indices, serumFe, folate and vitamin B levels.

A large randomized controlled trial found that the time antihypertensive medications are taken has no effect on important outcomes. A fixed-dose approach to statin prescribing is not inferior to a treat-to-target strategy for management of lipid levels.

Metformin is the first-line medication for type 2 diabetes. It is effective and safe, provided some caution is taken in specific populations. In patients with chronic kidney disease, metformin may provide long-term benefits, and it is a first-line therapy for diabetes, but the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) must be assessed regularly, to minimize the risk for metformin accumulation.

Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a very rare subtype of pancreatic cancer. Due to small number of patients, no standard chemotherapy protocol has been established. We experienced an extremely rare case of PACC with liver metastasis that showed a pathological complete response after modified FOLFIRINOX (mFFX) therapy.
