Male Leeds strain rats were given a diet containing either 0.06% 3'-methyl-4-dimethylaminoazobenzene (3'-MeDAB) or 0.05% 2-acetylaminofluorene (2-AAF), alone or together with 0.0067% 3-methylcholanthrene (MeCh). MeCh both reduced the incidence of hepatic neoplasms induced by 3'-MeDAB and delayed their development. With 2-AAF, however, inhibition of hepatocarcinogenesis by MeCh only appeared to operate during the period of treatment; thereafter the incidence of tumours rose rapidly and this was accentuated if dietary MeCh continued to be administered after the period of combined 2-AAF and MeCh treatment, suggesting a secondary, promoting effect of MeCH. In contrast, the inhibition by MeCh of carcinogenesis of Zymbal's gland due to 2-AAF was almost complete. Thus, in the long term MeCh has different effects upon 3'-MeDAB and 2-AAF carcinogenesis in the rat liver.

Current studies have clearly shown that aristolochic acid (AA) exposure can induce a variety of diseases, such as kidney disease, liver cancer, and urinary tract cancer (UTC). However, no studies have systematically analyzed and integrated these results. Therefore, we aimed to elucidate the association between AA exposure and the risk of safety outcomes for AA-related overall disease and different types of disease it causes.

Objectives: To create a validated 3D finite element model and employ it to examine the biomechanical behaviour of multirooted root analogue implants (RAIs).
Methods: A validated finite element model comprising either an RAI or a threaded implant (TI) and an idealised bone block was developed based on a previously conducted in vitro study. All the experimental boundary conditions and material properties were reproduced.

The harmful by-product of paracetamol is known as N-Acetyl-p-benzoquinoneimine, (NAPQI). When paracetamol is given at therapeutic dosages or in excess, it undergoes Phase I metabolism in the liver via Cytochrome P-450 2E1 (CYP2E1), and then it produces NAPQI. Previous studies reported that a non-ionic surfactant known as Brij 35 (Polyoxyethylene lauryl ether) has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of CYP2E1 and P-glycoprotein (P-gp).

This study aims to investigate the effects of material compatibility, variable cooling rates, and crown geometry on thermal stress development in porcelain-veneered lithium disilicate (PVLD) and porcelain-veneered zirconia (PVZ) dental crown systems, and subsequently anticipate parameters for their optimum performance. An anatomically correct 3D crown model was developed from STL files generated using 3D scans of the experimental crown sample. Next, the viscoelastic finite element model (VFEM) based on the 3D crown model was developed and validated for anatomically correct bilayer PVLD and PVZ crown systems.
