In eels the parathyrin of the corpuscles of Stannius (PCS), mammalian parathyroid-like hormone, has been localized in the cytoplasm of all the cells in the corpuscles. This detection was done by indirect immunofluorescence with an antiserum anti 1-84 bovine parathormone. The specificity of the reaction was demonstrated by inhibition of the coloration obtained with the 1-84 bovine parathormone and the active fragment 1-34 of human parathormone. Variations of the cellular localization of the PCS or a complete depletion of the hormonal content were observed in eels made hypercalcaemic by calcium overloading.

Maintaining an optimal indoor thermal environment is crucial for enhancing the welfare and productivity of livestock in intensive breeding farms. This paper investigated the application of a combined geothermal heat pump with a precision air supply (GHP-PAS) system for cooling dairy cows on a dairy farm. The effectiveness of the GHP-PAS system in mitigating heat stress in lactating dairy cattle, along with its energy performance and local cooling efficiency in the free stalls were evaluated.

In livestock systems, clanobutin sodium (CLB) is a pivotal veterinary medication due to its appetite-stimulant features. This contribution aims to design, for the first time, a straightforward and ecological framework for quantifying CLB in various matrices. Relying on a direct mix-and-read assay, tyrosine (TS) and tryptophan (TP) biosensors were exploited as turn-off fluorescence probes for quantifying CLB using λ 274/302 nm and 272/361 nm, respectively.

Preparation and application of multiple particle binding-liposomes for electrochemiluminescent signal amplification in bioassays.

Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry, Kyoto Pharmaceutical University, 5 Misasaginakauchi-cho, Yamashina-ku, Kyoto, 607-8414, Japan.

In this study, multiple particle binding-liposomes (MPB-Lips), encapsulating the luminophore tris(2',2-bipyridyl)ruthenium (II) complex ([Ru(bpy)]), were developed as an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) signal amplifier and were applied to detect the model analyte streptavidin (SA) using the indirect competitive ECL method. The MPB-Lips were prepared by mixing various ratios of two different liposomes-one containing a phospholipid with a primary amine group and a biotinyl group (BIO/NH-Lip) and one containing a phospholipid with an N-hydroxysuccinimide group (NHS-Lip) to allow binding between particles via amide bonds. Quartz crystal microbalance analysis using SA-modified gold-coated quartz crystals showed that the frequency shift values of MPB-Lips gradually decreased in the order BIO/NH-Lip:NHS-Lip = 1:0 < 1:1 < 1:3 < 1:5.

The increasing incidence of resistance extended spectrum-beta lactamase (ESBL) producing become worldwide issue. The current study aimed to determine the genomic diversity of ESBL-producing in milk samples collected from cows with mastitis as well as their antibiotic sensitivity profiles and genetic identification in Peshawar, Pakistan. The california mastitis test (CMT) was initially used to verify the presence for mastitis in 700 collected milk samples.

Background: Recombinant peptide production in Escherichia coli provides a sustainable alternative to environmentally harmful and size-limited chemical synthesis. However, in-vivo production of disulfide-bonded peptides at high yields remains challenging, due to degradation by host proteases/peptidases and the necessity of translocation into the periplasmic space for disulfide bond formation.

Results: In this study, we established an expression system for efficient and soluble production of disulfide-bonded peptides in the periplasm of E.
