Introduction: Haemodynamic atrioventricular delay (AVD) optimisation has primarily focussed on signals that are not easy to acquire from a pacing system itself, such as invasive left ventricular catheterisation or arterial blood pressure (ABP). In this study, standard clinical central venous pressure (CVP) signals are tested as a potential alternative.
Methods: Sixteen patients with a temporary pacemaker after cardiac surgery were studied.

Purpose: Despite significant improvements in the design and performance of continuous flow left ventricular assist devices (CFLVADs), one of the most important reasons hampering further penetration of this technology is the occurrence of adverse events, especially strokes. One of the well-known risk factors for strokes is hypertension which is particularly common in patients undergoing a CFLVAD implant. While the device is implanted in the heart, strokes happen due to pathology in the brain and we hypothesised that modelling the blood flow in the circle of Willis might shed light on the causation of strokes in this situation.

Background: Managing postoperative pain and stress response was critical in laparoscopic myomectomy, a procedure for uterine fibroids. Ropivacaine transversus abdominis plane block (RTAPB) may offer enhanced analgesic efficacy and reduced stress responses compared to traditional analgesia.
Methods: This retrospective analysis examined 217 patients undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy at Hankou Hospital of Wuhan from June 2020 to September 2023.

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of the SaCo videolaryngeal mask airway (VLMA) in combination with a bronchial blocker in patients undergoing minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 120 patients who underwent minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery from January 2022 to December 2023. Patients were grouped based on their treatment methods: 68 patients who received the SaCo VLMA combined with a bronchial blocker intraoperatively were designated as the L group, while 52 patients who received a tracheal tube combined with a bronchial blocker intraoperatively were designated as the E group.

Objective: To identify factors influencing neurological prognosis following traumatic brain injury (TBI) and to analyze the role of brain tissue oxygen pressure (PbtO) monitoring in prognostication.
Methods: In this case-control study, medical records of 412 individuals diagnosed with TBI were thoroughly examined and analyzed. The patients were divided into two groups based on their prognosis at three months post-injury: Good Prognosis (n = 321) and Poor Prognosis (n = 91).
