The optimal endovascular management of cervical carotid dissection causing tandem occlusion remains uncertain. We investigated the impact of emergent carotid stenting during endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in patients with tandem occlusion secondary to cervical carotid artery dissection. This was a secondary analysis of patients treated with EVT for AIS due to occlusive carotid artery dissection and tandem occlusion included in the retrospective international Antithrombotic Treatment for Stroke Prevention in Cervical Artery Dissection (STOP-CAD) study.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most common subtype of hemorrhagic stroke causing significant morbidity and mortality. Previously clinical treatments for ICH have largely been based on a single pathophysiological perspective, and there remains a lack of curative interventions. Following the rupture of cerebral blood vessels, blood metabolites activate resident immune cells such as microglia and astrocytes, and infiltrate peripheral immune cells, leading to the release of a series of inflammatory mediators.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading global cause of morbidity and mortality, necessitating comprehensive approaches for its management. This systematic review evaluates the long-term impact of structured lifestyle intervention programs on cardiac event-free survival in patients with established CAD. A total of eight studies, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and prospective cohort studies, were analyzed, encompassing diverse interventions such as cardiac rehabilitation, dietary modifications, exercise programs, and psychosocial support.

In this research, the authors provide a retrospective cohort study of 82 patients with suprasellar meningiomas to identify predictors of the visual outcome following surgery. We also conducted a matched retrospective case-control analysis.  This retrospective cohort study included all patients who underwent craniotomy for surgical excision of suprasellar meningiomas at our institution between January 2016 and March 2022.

Background And Purpose: Asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS) is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and vascular cognitive impairment, affecting cognitive function across multiple domains. This study aimed to explore differences in static and dynamic intrinsic functional connectivity and temporal dynamics between patients with ACS and those without carotid stenosis.

Methods: We recruited 30 patients with unilateral moderate-to-severe (stenosis ≥ 50%) ACS and 30 demographically-matched healthy controls.
