Work in progress should produce within the next few years a better understanding of the nature of immune responses to human cancer antigens. Studies to date, notably with melanomas, have shown that many, perhaps most, are immunogenic. However, the antibodies elicited are often not specific to tumor antigens. At this point, neither uncritical optimism no paralyzing pessimism is justified.

S-Palmitoylation is a reversible post-translational modification involving saturated fatty acid palmitate-to-cysteine linkage in the protein, which guides many aspects of macrophage physiology in health and disease. However, the precise role and underlying mechanisms of palmitoylation in infection of macrophages remain elusive. Here, we found that infection induced the expression of zinc-finger DHHC domain-type palmitoyl-transferases (ZDHHCs), particularly ZDHHC2, in mouse macrophages.

The immune system plays fundamental roles in maintaining physiological homeostasis. With the increasing prevalence of obesity-a state characterized by chronic inflammation and systemic dyshomeostasis-there is growing scientific and clinical interest in understanding how obesity reshapes immune function. In this review, we propose that obesity is not merely an altered metabolic state but also a fundamentally altered immunological state.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with a high rate of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. A large proportion of HBV reactivation may occur in RA patients after immunosuppression treatment, while fulminant hepatitis may occur in severe cases. Immunosuppressants are fundamental medications for the treatment of RA but carry the risk of inducing HBV reactivation.

Introduction: The Swiss allocation system for kidney transplantation has evolved over time to balance medical urgency, immunological compatibility, and waiting time. Since the introduction of the transplantation law in 2007, which imposed organ allocation on a national level, the algorithm has been optimized. Initially based on waiting time, HLA compatibility, and crossmatch performed by cell complement-dependent cytotoxicity techniques, the system moved in 2012 to a score including HLA compatibility, waiting time, anti-HLA antibodies detected by the Luminex technology, and a virtual crossmatch.

Introduction: COVID-19 vaccination has been a key intervention in reducing the severity of symptoms; however, concerns about vaccine safety, particularly regarding allergic reactions, arose early on. Healthcare workers faced the challenge of addressing these concerns to ensure safe vaccine administration. This study aimed to review the practical aspects of using allergy skin testing for COVID-19 vaccine excipients in patients with a history of allergic reactions developed following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination.
