The purpose of this study was to examine the deposition of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and their receptors, RAGE, in ovarian follicles during folliculogenesis in mice fed high (H-AGE) or low (L-AGE) AGE diets and following superovulation with gonadotropins. We hypothesize that H-AGE diet is associated with increased AGE deposition and RAGE expression in various stages of ovarian follicular development, and superovulation with gonadotropins may alter these changes. C57BL/6J mice were fed low L-AGE (n=10) or H-AGE (n=10) diet for 12 weeks.

OC use may induce biochemical changes in the brain, especially during the neurobiologically dynamic adolescent/young adult years. MicroRNA cargo in L1CAM-associated extracellular vesicles was measured from serum samples collected from young women using the miRCURY LNA miRNA Focus PCR Panel (Qiagen) and validated using quantitative PCR.

Hypothyroidism causes ovarian dysfunction and infertility in women and animals and impairs the hypothalamic expression of kisspeptin (Kp). However, kisspeptin is also expressed in the genital system, and the lack of the Kp receptor (Kiss1r) in the uterus is linked to reduced implantation rates. This study investigated the impact of hypothyroidism on the uterine expression of Kp and Kiss1r in female rats throughout the estrous cycle and the associated changes in uterine activity modulators.

The impact of artificial light exposure on human health has garnered significant attention in recent years. In particular, its effects on reproductive health have raised concerns. Given that the onset of menarche serves as a crucial indicator of reproductive maturity, understanding the implications of artificial light exposure becomes paramount.

Here, deletion of the prolactin receptor (Prlr) from forebrain neurons or arcuate kisspeptin neurons resulted in failure to maintain normal lactation-induced suppression of estrous cycles. Kisspeptin immunoreactivity and pulsatile LH secretion were increased in these mice, even in the presence of ongoing suckling stimulation and lactation.
