Retroplacental blood samples (between 3 ml and 290 ml) which had been obtained from 327 recently delivered women were tested for the presence of HLA-A, B, C, DR antibodies. The approaches taken by the examiners were the NIH microlymphocytotoxicity test according to Terasaki and the two-colour fluorescence test according to van Rood. The examiners established 66 sera with cytotoxic reactions, and 18 of these serum samples (5.5 per cent) contained good to very good antibodies of the HLA-A, B, C, and DR series (correlation coefficients being between 0.55 and 1.00). Advantages offered by this search test over conventional pregnancy screening are discussed in some detail.

Purpose: To comprehensively compare the diagnostic ability and inter-reader agreement of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings for predicting massive hemorrhage after cesarean section in patients with placental malposition, aiming to identify the most reliable and objective indicators.
Methods: Totally, 148 consecutive patients with placental malposition underwent MRI and cesarean section at our hospital between January 2014 and July 2021. The patients were divided into massive and non-massive hemorrhage groups.

Unlabelled: Amniotic band syndrome is a constrictive phenomenon in fetal development that can provoke limb autoamputation, malformation, trunk division, and umbilical cord strangulation. The latter two complications will ultimately lead to fetal demise if left untreated. If detected early enough, select cases may benefit from prenatal resection of the amniotic bands, thus preventing amputation and fetal death.

Objective: Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a term used to describe trophoblast invasion into the uterine wall. The condition can be FATAL: at labor due to a lack of spontaneous separation of the placenta from the uterine wall, leading to severe hemorrhage. In this study, we aim to evaluate preoperative risk factors for unplanned immediate hysterectomy in PAS uterine-preserving surgeries.

Introduction: Retroplacental hematoma is a paroxysmal accident that threatens maternal and fetal prognosis. It is a major emergency in obstetric pathology. The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with retroplacental hematomas at the Maradi Mother and Child Health Center in 2022.

We present a case of massive abruptio placenta occurring in a young asymptomatic mother at 30 weeks' gestation. Although electronic fetal monitoring and ultrasound allowed a prompt diagnosis of an 8 × 5 cm retroplacental hematoma, the fetus died at the time of emergency cesarean section.
