Aim: To develop and evaluate a novel multi-method micro-computed tomography (μCT) imaging protocol for enhanced visualization of both hard and soft tissues in murine mandibles, addressing the limitations of traditional imaging techniques in dental research.
Materials And Methods: We employed a contrast-enhanced (CE) μCT imaging technique using Lugol's iodine as a contrast agent to visualize the intricate structures of murine mandibles. The protocol involved the combination of conventional μCT imaging as well as CE-μCT, including decalcification with EDTA, allowing for simultaneous assessment of hard and soft tissues.

Background: Tooth decay is an infectious disease which, in its initial phase, leads to the formation of cavities in the teeth through decalcification of the enamel and local tissue destruction. In addition to proper oral hygiene, prophylactic sealing of fissures and cavities with a sealant is a method of preventing the development of caries. The aim of this study is to summarise the effectiveness of fissure sealing of permanent teeth with fissure sealants compared to other preventive methods or no intervention.

A two-dimensional (2D) silicene-germanene alloy, siligene (SiGe), a single-phase material, has attracted increased attention due to its two-elemental low-buckled composition and unique physics and chemistry. This 2D material has the potential to address the challenges caused by low electrical conductivity and the environmental instability of corresponding monolayers. Yet, the siligene structure was studied in theory, demonstrating the material's great electrochemical potential for energy storage applications.

The proposal of hybrid ion batteries, which can integrate the advantages of the single ion battery, opens up a new route for developing high-performance secondary batteries. Herein, we successfully constructed an aqueous hybrid battery comprised of polyanionic-type cathode material (NaV(PO), NVP), Zn metal anode, and aqueous Ca/Zn hybrid electrolyte. This exciting combination gives full play to not only the excellent diffusion dynamics of Ca in the NASICON (sodium super ion conductors) structure but also the electrostatic shielding effect of Ca with low reduction potential that inhibits the formation of zinc dendrites.

Background: Fragment reattachment is the recommended treatment modality in uncomplicated crown fractures. There is a paucity of literature regarding the mechanisms responsible for increased resistance to fracture after fragment rehydration in such cases. Hence, the aim of this proof-of-concept study was to decipher the microscopic changes in the penetration characteristics of resin in tooth fragments after different rehydration protocols.
