Background: Ulcer erosion into the cystic artery is a rare cause of bleeding in duodenal ulcers, with only a limited number of cases described in the literature. Historically, treatment has predominantly involved surgical intervention. We present three cases of duodenal ulcer bleeding due to cystic artery erosion, which were successfully managed with cystic artery embolization.

One of the commonly involved locations is the pancreas; this condition is known as type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP). Type 1 AIP, which shows a biliary stricture in the intrapancreatic bile duct, can be misdiagnosed as a malignancy due to similar cholangiography findings and clinical presentation.

Objectives: Most research on duodenal ulcers has focused on bulbar ulcers; details on post-bulbar ulcers remain largely unknown. This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of patients with post-bulbar duodenal ulcers depending on their location.
Methods And Materials: We conducted a retrospective study of hospitalized patients newly diagnosed with duodenal ulcers on endoscopy at a tertiary referral center in Japan between April 2004 and March 2019.

Closed-loop gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) is a rare complication that results from a mechanical obstruction in the pylorus or duodenum. In the early 1990s, the common cause of GOO was peptic ulcer disease, accounting for 5% to 10% of hospital admissions. Peptic ulcer disease is the disruption of the mucosal integrity in the stomach and duodenum and can be categorized into gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers.

Background: A post-bulbar duodenal ulcer (PBDU) is an ulcer in the duodenum that is distal to the duodenal bulb. PBDU may coexist with a synchronous posterior ulcer in rare occurrences, resulting in a kissing ulcer (KU). Duodenocaval fistula (DCF) is another uncommon but potentially fatal complication related to PBDU.
