[Fractional composition of the allergens from cereals]. | LitMetric

The composition of cereal allergens was studied and the specific activity of the fractions isolated from these allergens was determined. Four protein fractions were obtained from wheat flour by the method of salting out. None of the fractions thus obtained exceeded the whole wheat allergen in specific activity as determined in the indirect mast-cell degranulation (IMCD) test. Three fractions were isolated by fractionation through Sephadex G-75. Of these, the first fraction possessed better physical properties, and its specific activity exceeded that of the initial allergen in the IMCD test.

Coherence-Based Graph Convolution Network to Assess Brain Reorganization in Spinal Cord Injury Patients.

Int J Neural Syst

Motor imagery (MI) engages a broad network of brain regions to imagine a specific action. Investigating the mechanism of brain network reorganization during MI after spinal cord injury (SCI) is crucial because it reflects overall brain activity. Using electroencephalogram (EEG) data from SCI patients, we conducted EEG-based coherence analysis to examine different brain network reorganizations across different frequency bands, from resting to MI.

March 2025

Department of Neurosciences, University of California, San Diego, California, USA; Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study, School of Medicine, University of California. San Diego California USA.

Background: Online educational programs focused on ways to improve brain health could increase participant literacy, empowerment, and engagement in activities that support personal brain health, potentially reducing dementia risk.

Objectives: Our goal was to develop an evidence-based online educational program with a focus on risk and protective factors for dementia. Here we present the rationale and features of the program and include results from a pilot study that assessed usability and acceptability.

Background: This easibility cohort study follows a prior randomized control pilot trial that examined the feasibility and impact of a formal Musculoskeletal Health for Musicians (MHM) program. In this follow-up study, an expanded program was designed to target hand and arm pain by adding exercises for the wrist, elbow, forearm, and hand intrinsic muscles. The MHM program combines education with exercise instruction to prevent pain and injury in musicians.

Participation of Children With Developmental Coordination Disorder: A Scoping Review.

Child Care Health Dev

March 2025

Graduate Program in Physical Therapy, Departament of Physical Therapy, Universidade Federal de São Carlos, São Carlos, Brazil.

Background: Children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) may have participation restrictions; however, there is little information about the specific characteristics of the participation of children with this condition. Given the relevance of participation as an outcome of physiotherapeutic interventions, the objective of this study was to provide a broad review of studies on participation in children with DCD.

Methods: We mapped the literature using a scoping review, through the MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL and Web of Science databases to identify studies on participation in children with DCD published between 2001 and 2021.

Optogenetic stimulation of cell bodies versus axonal terminals generate comparable activity and functional connectivity patterns in the brain.

Optogenetic techniques are often employed to dissect neural pathways with presumed specificity for targeted projections. In this study, we used optogenetic fMRI to investigate the effective landscape of stimulating the cell bodies versus one of its projection terminals. Specifically, we selected a long-range unidirectional projection from the ventral subiculum (vSUB) to the nucleus accumbens shell (NAcSh) and placed two stimulating fibers-one at the vSUB cell bodies and the other at the vSUB terminals in the NAcSh.
