Lincomycin, produced by the actinomycete Streptomyces lincolnensis, is highly effective against Gram-positive bacteria and protozoans, making it widely used in clinical settings. This study identified LcbR2, a MarR family transcriptional regulator, as an activator of lincomycin biosynthesis. Knocking out the lcbR2 gene reduced lincomycin production by 63.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major global health issue, with an estimated 254 million people living with chronic HBV infection worldwide as of 2022. Chronic HBV infection is the leading cause of cirrhosis and liver cancer. Cardiogenic shock remains a significant cause of mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome, despite early interventions, such as coronary revascularization. Mechanical circulatory support devices, particularly venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO), are increasingly being utilized to address this issue. Limited randomized controlled trials (RCTs) exist to evaluate the efficacy of VA-ECMO in cardiogenic shock related to acute coronary syndrome.
