Objective: The association of long-term hyperuricemia with liver function remains less well understood. This prospective cohort study aimed to investigate the relationship between hyperuricemia and liver function as well as other metabolic and cardiovascular parameters.
Methods: We enrolled 375 participants with hyperuricemia and 599 normouricemic controls.

Type 2 Diabetes is a condition characterized by the denaturation of the insulin receptors, due to chronically high blood glucose levels, leading to impaired regulation of blood sugar. Gout is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting joints in the lower limbs, marked by elevated serum urate levels and the accumulation of uric acid crystals in synovial fluid, causing painful flare-ups that significantly impact quality of life.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the potential relationship between the newly defined adiposity metric, the Body Roundness Index (BRI), which assesses central obesity, and the development of new-onset hyperuricemia.
Methods: In the Kailuan cohort study from 2006 to 2019, 91,804 eligible participants were included. A multivariate Cox regression model was used to test the correlation between BRI and hyperuricemia.
