: Cryoglobulinemia (CG) syndrome is a heterogeneous condition characterized by the presence of cryoglobulins in serum, often leading to vasculitis with protean clinical manifestations. Understanding the presentation of cryoglobulinemia-related symptoms based on cryoprecipitate levels, GC type, and severity at diagnosis is essential for effective management. Hence, this study aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of patients with positive cryoglobulin detection to investigate these aspects.

Background: Blood routine testing was the most commonly used laboratory method in clinical practice. The results are often influenced by factors such as instruments, reagents, and samples, among which, the interference of cold agglutinin is a very rare element. In our article, we reported a case of red blood cell agglutination caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.

Purpose: Cryoglobulinemia is a pathological condition characterized by the presence of cryoglobulins in the blood, with cryoglobulinemic glomerulonephritis being the most frequent form of renal involvement. Fanconi syndrome presents as a generalized dysfunction of the proximal tubule, characterized by the presence of polyuria, phosphaturia, glycosuria, proteinuria, proximal renal tubular acidosis, and osteomalacia. We aimed to present five cases co-occurring with Fanconi syndrome and cryoglobulinemia.

Robust preanalytical and analytical processes are critical for the detection of cryoproteins. There is significant variation in practice in the detection, analysis and reporting. A survey in 2018 of 137 laboratories participating in the UK National External Quality Assessment Service (UK NEQAS) (6) quality control program showed significant variation in the laboratory processes which highlighted the need for standardisation of the detection, analysis and reporting of cryoglobulins.
