Objective: The purpose of this investigation is to assess the clinical risk linked to the onset of diabetes in individuals with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) through the utilization of the cardiac metabolic index (CMI), which is derived from triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein, height, and waist circumference. Research focusing on the application of CMI for evaluating diabetes risk among NAFLD patients remains scarce, and an exploration of the association between CMI and the emergence of diabetes within this demographic has not been conducted. This investigation aims to illuminate this connection, thereby providing novel insights into the prevention of diabetes progression in individuals with NAFLD.

Background: The connection between lipid-related obesity indices and severe headache or migraine in young and middle-aged people aged 20-60 remains ambiguous, and there are gaps in the discriminative ability of different indicators for severe headaches or migraines. Consequently, we set out to look into this association utilizing National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data from 1999 to 2004.
Methods: After the values of waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), body-mass index (BMI), body roundness index (BRI), visceral adiposity index (VAI), lipid accumulation product (LAP), triglyceride glucose index (TyG), cardiac metabolism index (CMI), waist triglyceride Index (WTI), conicity index (CI) and weight-adjusted waist index (WWI) were estimated, with minimal sufficient adjustment for confounders determined by directed acyclic graph (DAG), weighted univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were carried out to ascertain the relationship between them and migraine.

Background: The Cardiometabolic Index (CMI) represents a novel anthropometric measurement, which combines characteristics of adiposity and lipids. Since obesity, lipid metabolism, and inflammation may collectively facilitate the occurrence of stroke, we hypothesize that a combination of elevated levels of the CMI and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) increases the risk of future stroke among middle-aged and older Chinese adults.
Methods: This study included 8,973 participants aged 45 years or older from the China Longitudinal Study on Health and Retirement (CHARLS), who were stroke-free and underwent baseline evaluations between 2011 and 2012, with followed-up at 2013, 2015 and 2018.

Background: Metabolic health is closely related to testosterone levels, and the cardiometabolic index (CMI) is a novel metabolic evaluation metric that encompasses obesity and lipid metabolism. However, there is currently a lack of research on the relationship between CMI and testosterone, which is the objective of this study.
Methods: This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) cycles from 2011 to 2016.

Objective: This cross-sectional study demonstrates the differences in the dimensions of musculoskeletal (MSK) pain between participants with mental distress and/or insomnia among general population with MSK pain within the past 12 months.
Methods: Participants of Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 (NFBC1966) were studied (n = 4316). They were divided into groups based on their mental distress and insomnia status (co-occurring mental distress and insomnia [CMI], isolated mental distress [M] and insomnia [I], and absence of both [AMI]).
