During qualification for mechanical circulatory support, the comprehensive assessment of a patient's mental state is an integral element of the overall medical evaluation. It encompasses a range of psychosocial issues, and as such provides information helpful in the selection of a suitable candidate for the required treatment, and sometimes identifies contraindications to it. It allows ensuring that the patient meets expectations regarding both mental health stability and adherence to medical recommendations.

Early detection and intervention are crucial but often hindered by complex diagnostic requirements. This study aims to develop a predictive model using NHANES data, excluding biochemical indicators, to provide a simple, cost-effective tool for large-scale, non-medical screening and early prevention of adolescent MetS.

A patient in his 40s presented at the outpatient clinic with sudden pain and swelling over his medial malleolus, 16 weeks after he had undergone osteoperiosteal autografting with a medial malleolar osteotomy for his tertiary osteochondral lesion of the talus. Postoperatively, the patient was treated using the regular evidence-based rehabilitation protocol of 5 weeks of non-weight-bearing and 5 weeks of partial weight-bearing. However, after the confirmed radiological union the patient experienced an acute on chronic stress fracture through the osteotomy line.
