Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) by NK cells is a key mechanism in anti-cancer therapies with monoclonal antibodies, including cetuximab (EGFR-targeting) and avelumab (PDL1-targeting). Fc gamma receptor IIIa (FcγRIIIa) polymorphisms impact ADCC, yet their clinical relevance in NK cell functionality remains debated. We developed two complementary flow cytometry assays: one to predict the FcγRIIIa-V158F polymorphism using a machine learning model, and a 15-color flow cytometry panel to assess antibody-induced NK cell functionality and cancer-immune cell interactions.

This single-institution retrospective cohort study evaluates the risk of thromboembolic events (TE) in patients with juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) treated with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg). We found no difference in the occurrence of TE in JDM patients treated with IVIg as compared to those without IVIg exposure; both cohorts had no TEs. Patients in both JDM cohorts had matched levels of other clotting risk factors, such as periods of limited mobility and hormonal contraceptive use.

Objective: The occurrence of hypofibrinogenemia after tocilizumab treatment has attracted increasing attention, which may cause bleeding and even life-threatening. This study aims to explore the risk factors for tocilizumab-induced hypofibrinogenemia (T-HFIB) and construct a risk prediction model.
Methods: A total of 221 inpatients that received tocilizumab from 2015 to 2023 were retrospectively collected and divided into T-HFIB group or control group.

Goats are the one of the most susceptible domestic species to toxoplasmosis affecting animal health and production. The present study aimed to determine the seroprevalence of T. gondii infection in dairy goats from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as well as to evaluate associated risk factors, parasitic DNA detection in raw goat milk samples, and attempts to isolate the parasite from raw goat milk samples.

The ongoing emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants, combined with antigen exposures from different waves and vaccinations, poses challenges in updating COVID-19 vaccine antigens. We collected 206 sera from individuals with vaccination-only, hybrid immunity, and single or repeated omicron post-vaccination infections (PVIs), including non-JN.1 and JN.
