Background: Persistent and mobile organic compounds (PMOC) are of great concern for water quality and human health. The recent improvement and availability of high-resolution mass spectrometry in combination with liquid chromatography have widely expanded the potential of analytical workflows for their detection and quantitation in water. Given their high polarity, the detection of some PMOC requires alternative techniques to reversed-phase chromatography, such as hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC).

Background: The present study aims to (1) evaluate the autoanalyser quality control (QC) module of the Kehua Polaris c2000 automatic modularised biochemical analyser and (2) verify the impact of the analyser's automatic implementation of internal QC (IQC) testing at a set time point on the results of IQC and turnaround time (TAT).
Methods: For 5 consecutive days, three different methods were used to conduct IQC. Method 1: Internal QC was carried out at 8:00 every day.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has the potential to yield insights into cortical functions and improve the treatment of neurological and psychiatric conditions. However, its reliability is hindered by a low reproducibility of results. Among other factors, such low reproducibility is due to structural and functional variability between individual brains.

Information and communication technology (ICT) components, especially actuators in automated irrigation systems, are essential for managing precise irrigation and optimal soil moisture, enhancing orchard growth and yield. However, actuator malfunctions can lead to inefficient irrigation, resulting in water imbalances that impact crop health and reduce productivity. The objective of this study was to develop a signal processing technique to detect potential malfunctions based on the power consumption level and operating status of actuators for an automated orchard irrigation system.

The melon fly, , poses a severe threat to the country's agricultural productivity, particularly in the cultivation of cucurbitaceous crops. This study was conducted to determine the ideal irradiation dose to be used to set up a Sterile Insect Technique (SIT)-based strategy to control outbreaks in Sri Lanka. A colony was established and maintained under standard laboratory conditions.
