The effect of verapamil on the in-vivo bladder and urethra was investigated in female dogs. The bladder and urethral pressure responses to electrical stimulation of the pelvic and hypogastric nerves were decreased by verapamil.

Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are preferred for stroke prevention in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF); however, warfarin is still used. This study examined why physicians may choose warfarin over DOACs and the associated safety outcomes in patients with NVAF.

Our previous studies showed calcium (Ca) deficiency reduced ovarian weight and declined numbers of dominant follicles in an avian model. Nine jatrophane diterpenoids, including six previously undescribed compounds, were extracted and purified from whole plants of Jatropha curcas L. Their structures including absolute configurations were characterized by spectroscopic, quantum chemical Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, Electronic Circular Dichroism calculation, and Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction methods. These compounds were evaluated for their ability to reverse multidrug resistance.
