On the basis of anatomical data and personal clinical experience the authors propose a classification of localization of the suppurative-destructive lactation mastitis and most rational variants of the cuts for opening the abscess.

Intramammary dry-off treatment is widely considered an effective method for preventing and curing intramammary infection (IMI) in lactating cows; however, it is not commonly used in small ruminants like goats.
