Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous metabolic disorder that affects the metabolism of protein, fats, and carbohydrates due to the destruction of beta-cells resulting disruptions in insulin action/insulin secretion. According to International Diabetes Federation (IDF) prevalence of 90% people with diabetes has type 2 diabetes is driven by socio-economic, demographic, environmental, and genetic factors. DM type 2 sparks myriad of debilitating disease needs management to cure it.

Angina pectoris, a primary manifestation of ischemic heart disease, imposes a significant clinical and economic burden globally. This review highlights recent advancements in the management of angina, emphasizing a patient-centred approach that integrates pharmacological, interventional, and lifestyle strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk and improve patient outcomes. For obstructive coronary artery disease, optimal medical therapy represents the cornerstone of treatment.

Due to the pleiotropic effects of ketogenic diet (KD) on pathophysiology, including inflammation and oxidative stress, medical personnels have been intensively exploring the application of it in the management of epilepsy. Meanwhile, the voltage-dependent anion channel 1 (VDAC1) is believed to be involved in regulating inflammatory and oxidative stress processes. However, the correlation between KD and VDAC1 in epilepsy has not been elucidated.
