Purpose Of Review: Low phospholipid-associated cholelithiasis (LPAC) syndrome is a rare genetic form of intrahepatic cholesterol lithiasis, affecting mainly young adults. This review describes the recent advances in genetic and clinical characterization, diagnosis and management of LPAC syndrome.
Recent Findings: Recent publications report data from several retrospective cohorts.

Hepatocellular carcinoma remains a significant threat to human health. Recent studies have found that the intake of cellular cholesterol contributes to the development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma, although the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Our analysis of transcriptomic and proteomic databases has identified increased mRNA and protein expression levels of NPC1, a cholesterol intracellular transporter protein, in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues.

Background: Hepatectomy is historically associated with higher morbidity and mortality, related to intraoperative blood loss and biliary fistulas. Technological advances and improvements in surgical and anesthetic techniques have led to greater safety in performing these surgeries.
Aims: The aim of this study was to analyze morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing hepatectomy.

Objective: To explore the distribution of probable causes and clinical characteristics of non-B and non-C (NBNC) primary liver cancer (PLC) patients in the HBV-endemic region.
Methods: A total of 86 individuals with biopsy-proven NBNC-PLC were enrolled. NBNC-PLC patients were defined as negative for both anti-HCV antibodies and five serum hepatitis B markers.
