The work presents results of the investigation of the level of microelements (iron, copper, zinc, cobalt, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, manganese, aluminium) in the blood of children with peritonitis. Their considerable decrease was found, especially on the third day after operation. Correction of electrolites in patients with peritonitis is considered to be necessary.

With the expansion of the mining industry, environmental pollution from microelements (MP) and red mud (RM) has become a pressing issue. While bioremediation offers a cost-effective and sustainable solution, plant growth in these polluted environments remains difficult. is one of the few plants capable of surviving in RM-affected soils.

Plants are increasingly exposed to stress-induced factors, including heavy metals. Zinc, although it is a microelement, at high concentrations can be phytotoxic to plants by limiting their growth and development. The presented research confirmed the inhibition effect of Zn on morphological and physiological parameters in barley plants.

Background: In the fermentation industry, the demand to replace expensive complex media components is increasing for alternative nutrient sources derived from waste or side streams, such as corn steep liquor (CSL). However, the use of CSL is associated with common problems of side products, such as batch-to-batch variations and compositional inconsistencies. In this study, to detect batch-to-batch variations in CSL for Ogataea polymorpha cultivations, a "fingerprinting" system was developed by employing the Respiration Activity Monitoring System designed for shake flasks (RAMOS) and 96-well microtiter plates (µTOM).

Insectary plants, such as sweet alyssum, coriander, and white mustard, are well known for their traits that attract beneficial insects, allowing them to protect crops from pests. The aim of the study was to analyze the compounds that are important in the antioxidant response, such as malondialdehyde, ascorbic acid, proline, total phenolics, and total flavonoids, as well as the content of elements, including macroelements (K, Mg, Na, Ca, P, and S) and heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Mn, and Fe) in broad bean plants. These plants were grown in field conditions as the main protected plant alongside a mixture of three insectary plants at different proportions of the individual components.
