As demonstrate the experiments performed in white male rats, during development of an inflammatory reaction, some essential fluctuations take place in nicotinamide dinucleotide. H2 (HAD.H2), nicotinamide dinucleotide phosphate. H2 (NADPh.H2), glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase (G-6-PhDH), monoaminoxydase (MAO) activities and in content of ascorbic acid in the fascicular zone of the adrenals and the same enzymes in the thyroid follicular cells. There is a reverse connection between the adrenal fascicular zone and the thyroid gland activity. At inflammation, prolactin increases MAO and G-6-PhDH activity in thyrocytes and adrenocorticocytes of the adrenal fascicular zone, changes correlation between NAD.H2-DG and NADPh.H2-DG activities. At an acute inflammation, prolactin activates the thyroid gland function, and during the reparative period--decreases it. During the inflammation period, prolactin administration decreases contingency of the indices in the thyroid gland-adrenals systems, that is to say produces a dissociative effect; it is, perhaps, connected with certain changes in balance and a mediatory role of biogenic amines.

Keratan sulfate (KS) is a proteoglycan secreted in the fetal brain astrocytes and radial glia into extracellular parenchyma as granulofilamentous deposits. KS surrounds neurons except dendritic spines, repelling glutamatergic and facilitating GABAergic axons. The same genes are expressed in both neuroblast migration and axonal growth.

Background: Foot drop is the common endpoint for a diverse set of nerve injuries, affecting over 128,000 in the United States each year. The level of injury, finite pace of regeneration, and/ exponential decay in the percentage of motor end-plates reinnervated over time may explain the limited success with natural recovery. Past nerve techniques have also been met with limited success.

The proliferation of benthic cyanobacteria has been observed in Lake Baikal since 2011 and is a vivid manifestation of the ecological crisis occurring in the littoral zone. The cyanobacterium sp. has formed massive fouling on all types of benthic substrates, including endemic Baikal sponges.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive inflammatory follicular dendritic cell (FDC) sarcoma (EBV + IFDCS) is a rare entity, and its histopathological characteristics have not been fully described. Here, we investigated the wide morphologic spectrum and immunophenotype of this tumor with the aim to help avoid misdiagnosis. Thirteen cases of EBV + IFDCS were retrospectively analyzed, combined with a review of 70 cases reported in the literature.

Introduction: This case report describes "one-and-a-half" syndrome with supranuclear facial palsy.
Case: 39 years old male hypertensive patient presented with right facial nerve palsy, internuclear ophthalmoplegia and conjugate gaze palsy. Neuroimaging showed acute posterior pontine infarct at medial longitudinal fasciculus, paramedian pontine reticular formation, abducens nerve nucleus and seventh nerve fascicular zone.
