The sterilizing procedure of medical rubber pieces have been studied. The gas sterilizer GK-100 has been used the chamber of which was loaded with rubber pieces and with rubber pieces in combination with plastic. The map of the temperature field has been build, and the effect of the exposure and temperature as well as the packaging density in the chamber on sterility of the test-pieces has been derived. The period of formaldehyde neutralization by ammonia has been measured, the action of formaldehyde on physical and mechanical properties of the rubber has been also studied. On the basis of the obtained data the sterilization procedure with formaldehyde for medical rubber pieces has been developed.

Many patients with underlying medical conditions are treated with local anesthetics in dental clinics. Dental local anesthetic cartridges contain the vasoconstrictor adrenaline, which can affect the cardiovascular system. For this reason, the adrenaline in the cartridge (2% lidocaine + 1:80,000 adrenaline) is sometimes diluted in order to avoid hemodynamic changes in these patients.

We propose a highly coarse-grained simulation model for crystalline polymer solids with lamellar structures. The mechanical properties of a crystalline polymer solid are mainly determined by the crystalline lamellar structures. This means that coarse-grained models rather than fine-scale molecular models are suitable to study the mechanical properties.

Iron oxide-impregnated filter papers (FeO) facilitate the study of soil phosphorus (P) desorption, availability and dynamics. However, many studies use homogenized and saturated shaking FeO soil systems, hindering opportunities to resolve environmentally relevant experimental objectives. This study created and evaluated a static microcosm to study soil P dynamics with FeO papers.

Objective: The purpose of the present observational study was to evaluate the bacterial load in the air following various dental procedures.
Methods: Air contamination following seven aerosol-generating dental procedures was assessed. The air volume was sampled by a wet cyclone collector for 10 min during 10 sessions of the following procedures: air-polishing, ultrasonic instrumentation, manual instrumentation, rubber cup polishing, cavity preparation with a 1:5 red contra-angle, cavity preparation with turbine and Low Volume Evacuator (LVE), and cavity preparation with turbine and High Volume Evacuator (HVE).

Objective: The number of sacrocolpopexies performed with transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) is increasing, and presacral fixation is the most dangerous step. Therefore, the training opportunities for trainees to become competent in performing vNOTES sacrocolpopexy are very important. Simulation-based training is ideal for filling this gap.
