Effect of Synchronized Radiofrequency and High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation (HIFES) of the Upper Face.

Aesthet Surg J

January 2025

Department of Dermatology, Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam, the Netherlands and is an Evidence-Based Medicine editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

Background: Effects of upper facial aging can present as static forehead and periorbital rhytids as well as soft tissue volume loss. The latter can prompt in conjunct with bony changes of the calvaria eyebrow and eyelid ptosis. Injection-based treatments can yield positive outcomes but are not free of procedural risks.

Polarization Switching from Valence Trapping in an Oxo-Bridged Trinuclear Iron Complex.

J Am Chem Soc

January 2025

Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering and IRCCS, Kyushu University, 744 Motooka, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka 819-0395, Japan.

Switching electric polarization by external stimuli constitutes a technical foundation for various applications. Here, we reported the observation of polarization-switching behavior in an oxo-bridged mixed-valence complex [FeO(piv)(py)] (piv = pivalate, py = pyridine). Detailed variable-temperature Mössbauer spectral analyses unambiguously confirm the occurrence of an electron localization-delocalization transition between two inequivalent Fe sites.

Solution-Gated Thin Film Transistor Biosensor-Based SnO Amorphous Film for Label-Free Detection of Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecules.

ACS Sens

January 2025

Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for the Green Preparation and Application of Functional Materials, Hubei Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hubei University, Wuhan 430062, China.

Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) was considered to be an important marker of multiple tumors, and its high expression is closely related to the early diagnosis and treatment of tumors. At present, metal oxide semiconductors have become a key component of biosensor and bioelectronics technology. Tin oxide shows great potential for development because of its nontoxic, nonpolluting, low price, and excellent electrical properties.

This study employs first-principles methods to investigate the ORR catalytic activity of As-doped and AsN co-doped graphene. As atoms, as catalytic active sites, exhibit excellent catalytic activity. Due to the strong interaction between As and N, the stability of the As-N co-doped substrate is enhanced.

Arterial Stiffness and Markers of Atrial Myopathy.

Ann Noninvasive Electrocardiol

March 2025

Department of Clinical Sciences, Malmö, Lund University, Malmö, Sweden.

Background: Arterial stiffness, measured using carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (c-f PWV) and heart rate-corrected augmentation index (Aix75), is associated with cardiovascular disease, and in some studies incident atrial fibrillation (AF). In this cross-sectional study, we aimed to investigate whether arterial stiffness is associated with markers of atrial myopathy, which refers to structural and electrical changes in the atria that indicate increased AF risk.

Methods: We included 1050 participants (age 57 ± 4.
