-cycloalkenes are abundant in bioactive natural products and have been used as powerful tools in chemical biology and drug discovery. However, strategies for the modular synthesis of -cycloalkenes, especially planar-chiral medium-sized ones, with high efficiency and selectivity, still remain elusive. Herein, we report a Pd-catalyzed asymmetric [7 + 2] cyclization strategy to address this challenge.

Background And Objectives: Breast cancers (BCs) of patients with paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes and anti-Yo antibodies (Yo-PNS) overexpress human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and display genetic alterations and overexpression of the Yo-onconeural antigens. They are infiltrated by an unusual proportion of B cells. We investigated whether these features were also observed in patients with PNS and anti-Ri antibodies (Ri-PNS).

Long-period radio transients are a new class of astrophysical objects that exhibit periodic radio emission on timescales of tens of minutes. Their true nature remains unknown; possibilities include magnetic white dwarfs, binary systems, or long-period magnetars; the latter class is predicted to produce fast radio bursts (FRBs). Using the MeerKAT radio telescope, we conducted follow-up observations of the long-period radio transient GPM J1839-10.

The vibron behavior of hydrogen bears significant importance for understanding the phases of solid hydrogen under high pressure. In this work, we reveal an unusual high-pressure behavior of hydrogen confined within nanopores through a combination of experimental measurements and theoretical calculations. The nanoconfined hydrogen molecules retain an hcp lattice up to 170 GPa, yet significant deviations from the vibrational characteristics of bulk hydrogen are observed in the primary vibrons of both Raman and infrared spectra.

Background: Amoxicillin suspension is frequently prescribed to children; we hypothesized that prescribing convention system constraints lead to unusual dosing regimens and unnecessary waste of the drug.
Objective: Identify antibiotic dispensing practices by community pharmacists and/or technicians to understand opportunities to decrease wasted amoxicillin liquid and optimize prescribing convention of liquid amoxicillin to children.
Methods: Pilot online survey of Atlanta area and National Community Pharmacists Association pharmacists or pharmacy technicians that self-reported dispensing amoxicillin suspension.
