Virus-like particles (VLPs) are a versatile technology for the targeted delivery of genetic material through packaging and potential surface modifications for directed delivery or immunological issues. Although VLP production is relatively simple as they can be recombinantly produced using microorganisms such as Escherichia coli, their current downstream processing often relies on individually developed purification strategies. Integrating size-selective separation techniques may allow standardized platform processing across VLP purification.

Gastrointestinal polyps are early indicators of many significant diseases within the digestive system, and timely detection of these polyps is crucial for preventing them. Although clinical gastrointestinal endoscopy and interventions help reduce the risk of malignancy, most current methods fail to adequately address the uncertainties and scale issues associated with the presence of polyps, posing a threat to patients' health. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel single-stage method for polyp detection.

Background: For breast cancer patients receiving mastectomy with direct-to-implant (DTI) immediate breast reconstruction, placing the implant in the pre-pectoral or subpectoral plane remains debatable; especially in settings of postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT).
Materials/methods: We reviewed 3,039 patients who underwent mastectomy and reconstruction at our institution between 2005 and 2020. Patients receiving DTI with and without PMRT were included.

Introduction: Managing choledocholithiasis alongside cholelithiasis has seen significant evolution, presenting options such as single-stage cholecystectomy with common bile duct (CBD) exploration, or a two-stage procedure involving endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) performed before or after cholecystectomy. Evidence from Western settings may not fully capture the unique disease burden and demographic characteristics prevalent in developing countries. Laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) is more commonly performed in the Indian subcontinent compared to Western centers due to limited access to advanced procedures and specialized instrumentation for complex ERCP cases.
