The only IgG subclass antiserums standardized for use with red cells are those sold by the Netherlands Red Cross. Their recommended method is a sedimentation antiglobulin test (AGT) not generally used in the USA. Some years ago we tested the antiserums for sensitivity and specificity using the routine centrifugation AGT and found the methods comparable. More recently, we have become concerned since the antiserums are being used by a variety of methods other than the recommended procedure. It is well-known that it is difficult to prepare subclass antiserums without contaminating antibodies to other IgG markers. Thus, we thought it worthwhile to standardize the antiserums with particular emphasis on specificity using several different technics. We found that some methods that have been used to define the subclass of red cell-bound IgG were inappropriate, and led to many false positive results.

Introduction: Differential diagnosis of rare idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) is mainly based on clinical aspects, muscle biopsy analysis, and auxiliary assays that determine myositis-specific and associated autoantibodies (MSA and MAA). While MSAs are considered specific for their respective IIM subclass, MAAs can be present in more than one subclass and in other conditions. This study compares results of a multispecific line blot assay with the final diagnosis of IIM patients based on clinical features and muscle biopsy to draw conclusions for the test's applicability in the diagnostic workflow.

In this study, the vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was developed using ferritin complexes with the immunogenic sequences screened against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein (SP) from the Fv-antibody library. The Fv-antibody library was prepared on the outer membrane of by the expression of the V region of immunoglobulin G (IgG) with a randomized complementarity-determining region 3 (CDR3). Four Fv-antibodies to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) were screened from the Fv-antibody library, which had a comparable binding constant () between SARS-CoV-2 SP and the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor.

TBVs are suggested to inhibit parasite transmission from humans to Anopheles mosquitoes. For the transmission of Plasmodium parasite, a variety of factors are included in gametes fusion phase. In this step, conserved male-specific generative cell specific 1 antigen is necessary for fusion of cytoplasmic membranes of micro- and macro-gametocytes and zygot formation.

Currently, the effects of dietary levels of n-3 highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFAs) on the growth performance, antioxidant capacity, immunity, and serum oxylipin profiles of female F-generation Yangtze sturgeon remain unknown. A total of 75 Yangtze sturgeons, an endangered freshwater fish species, with an average body weight of 3.60 ± 0.
