Adrenocortical cancer (ACC) is a rare malignant neoplasm originating from the adrenal cortex, presenting limited therapeutic options. An avenue for improving therapeutic efficacy may involve a deeper understanding of the role of adrenocortical stem/progenitor cells in the pathogenesis of this disease. Although existing data suggest stem/progenitor characteristics in certain cell populations within ACC, the challenge remains to identify adrenocortical stem cell markers directly involved in its carcinogenesis.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the expression of caspase-8 and procaspase-3 proteins in gastric cancer (GC) cells and non-cancerous mucosa in relation to clinical and morphological characteristics of the tumor, postoperative survival as well as other apoptosis-related proteins.
Materials And Methods: The study included 91 GC patients. Expression of the proteins was assessed using immunohistochemical method.

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common form of dementia worldwide, is a mixed proteinopathy (β-amyloid, tau and other proteins). Classically defined as a clinicopathological entity, AD is a heterogeneous, multifactorial disorder with various pathobiological subtypes showing different forms of cognitive presentation, currently referred to as the Alzheimer spectrum or continuum. Its morphological hallmarks are extracellular β-amyloid (amyloid plaques) and intraneuronal tau aggregates forming neurofibrillary tangles and neurites, vascular amyloid deposits (cerebral amyloid angiopathy), synapse and neuronal loss as well as neuroinflammation and reactive astrogliosis, leading to cerebral atrophy and progressive mental/cognitive impairment (dementia).

Efficacy of a lymph node dissection (LND) on a D1 -D2 level was investigated. There was established, that regional lymph nodes affection in gastric carcinoma causes deterioration of indices of general and disease-free survival.
