Contactless destruction of urinary and biliary calculi was performed in experiment by using an electrohydraulic effect. The method used gave cleavage of urinary and biliary calculi into fragments less than 4 mm.

Sulfatides or 3-O-sulfogalactosylceramide are negatively charged sulfated glycosphingolipids abundant in the brain and kidneys and play crucial roles in nerve impulse conduction and urinary pH regulation. Sulfatides are present in the liver, specifically in the biliary tract. Sulfatides are self-lipid antigens presented by cholangiocytes to activate cluster of differentiation 1d (CD1d)-restricted type II natural killer T (NKT) cells.

Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anatomical anomaly, in which the pancreatic parenchyma surrounds the descending duodenum. Generally, annular pancreas is diagnosed on the basis of symptoms associated with complications of peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, cholelithiasis, and rarely, malignant tumors. Herein, we report an 84-year-old man for whom, during hospitalization for a urinary tract infection, pancreatic cystic lesions and an annular pancreas were noted incidentally on computed tomography.

Similarly to most known Enterococci, has been identified mostly in bacteremia, urinary tract infections, infective endocarditis, and biliary tract infections. We present a case of bacteriemia associated with traumatic soft tissue infection in a 77-year-old male patient, a polytrauma victim with a tibia-fibula open fracture after a forklift accident.
