Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate soft-tissue changes in Egyptian cleft lip/palate (CLP) patients after conservative non-surgical maxillary advancement using face mask therapy.
Methods: This prospective cohort study included 20 Egyptian patients with unilateral CLP, six females and 14 males, ranging in age from 10 to 15 years and suffering from moderate maxillary deficiency. These patients had been chosen randomly from the Oro-dental Genetics Clinic at the National Research Centre, Egypt.

Background/aim: Contact sports-related oro-dental trauma contributes to a significant proportion of sports injuries among school children. Oro-dental trauma imposes a detrimental impact on the oral health-related quality of life. However, the burden of oro-dental trauma among contact sports players and their practices of mouthguards remains a research gap in Sri Lanka.

Biallelic variants in CHST3 gene result in congenital dislocation of large joints, club feet, short stature, rhizomelia, kypho-scoliosis, platyspondyly, epiphyseal dysplasia, flared metaphysis, in addition to minor cardiac lesions and hearing loss. Herein, we describe 14 new patients from 11 unrelated Egyptian families with CHST3-related skeletal dysplasia. All patients had spondyloepiphyseal changes that were progressive with age in addition to bifid distal ends of humeri which can be considered a diagnostic key in patients with CHST3 variants.

Introduction: Pyle Disease (PD), or familial metaphyseal dysplasia [OMIM 265900], is a rare autosomal recessive condition leading to widened metaphyses of long bones and cortical bone thinning and genu valgum. We detail the oro-dental and molecular findings in a South African patient with PD.
Methods: The patient underwent clinical, radiographic and molecular examinations.

Introduction: Heat is a kinetic process whereby energy flows from between two systems, hot-to-cold objects. In oro-dental implantology, conductive heat transfer/(or thermal stress) is a complex physical phenomenon to analyze and consider in treatment planning. Hence, ample research has attempted to measure heat-production to avoid over-heating during bone-cutting and drilling for titanium (Ti) implant-site preparation and insertion, thereby preventing/minimizing early (as well as delayed) implant-related complications and failure.
