Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections rank as the most prevalent sexually transmitted infections globally. The Brazilian Ministry of Health recommends the topical use of 70%-90% trichloroacetic acid (TAA) for treating condyloma acuminata, yet this method suffers from a high recurrence rate of 36% and requires roughly six applications. Topical photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown effectiveness in targeting subclinical lesions, but it also necessitates multiple sessions for complete lesion clearance.

Asian longhorned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis Motschulsky), a wood borer (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) native to China, has been unintentionally and repeatedly introduced to North American and European landscapes as a stow-away in the wood packing material commonly used in international trade. Asian longhorned beetle causes extensive damage and mortality in multiple deciduous tree species and in response, countries in both North America and Europe have adopted policies of eradication. Models that integrate patterns of Asian longhorned beetle dispersal with records of infested trees are critical in optimizing survey and eradication efforts and tracking eradication progress.

Acinetobacter has been recognized as a versatile plant growth promoting (PGP) rhizobacteria (PGPR) that produce multiple PGP traits. The present study was conducted to formulate an efficient and stable liquid bacterial inoculant (LBI) of Acinetobacter lwoffii strain PAU_31LN. In the current investigation, total 16 endophytic bacteria were isolated from cotton leaves and evaluated for plant growth-promoting features such as production of phytohormones, mineral solubilization, siderophore production, hydrogen cyanide (HCN) production, and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase activity.

Estimating constituent loads in streams and rivers is a crucial but challenging task due to low-frequency sampling in most watersheds. While predictive modeling can augment sparsely sampled water quality data, it can be challenging due to the complex and multifaceted interactions between several sub-watershed eco-hydrological processes. Traditional water quality prediction models, typically calibrated for individual sites, struggle to fully capture these interactions.

Fungus-farming termite colonies host members of the genus Xylaria as stow-away fungi that emerge from deteriorating fungal gardens (combs) or dying termite nests. Fungus-farming termites originated in Africa, where the highest host diversity - eleven termite genera - exists, and later colonised parts of Asia, where five extant termite genera are known. Theory predicts that symbiont diversity should correlate with host diversity, but while 17 termite-associated Xylaria species have been described from Asia, a mere three African species have been formally described.
