Objective Screening for disease using a smartphone camera is an emerging tool for conditions such as jaundice and anaemia, which are associated with a colour change (yellowing in jaundice; pallor in anaemia) of the external tissues. Based on this, we aimed to test a technique to non-invasively screen for anaemia in a population highly affected by anaemia: pregnant women in India. In this group, anaemia can have severe health consequences for both the mother and child.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation on microvascular density, tear film stability, and corneal wound healing in the management of pterygium.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 317 patients with pterygium who underwent treatment between January 2021 and January 2024. Patients were divided into a control group (pterygium excision alone, n = 161) and a study group (pterygium excision combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation, n = 156) based on the surgical approach.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intense pulsed light (IPL) combined with meibomian gland expression (MGX) for the treatment of dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction associated with chronic Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Methods: This prospective noncomparative interventional study included 29 patients (58 eyes) who underwent 3 sessions of IPL and MGX at 2-week intervals. Subjective symptoms (ocular surface disease index score) and objective dry eye tests: matrix metalloproteinase 9, tear meniscus height, bulbar redness score, tear film lipid layer thickness (LLT), Schirmer I test, conjunctival and corneal staining, meibomian gland loss, MGX score [meibomian gland score (MGS)], and tear break-up time were assessed at the baseline and after 4, 8, and 12 weeks.

Objective: To report ocular examination findings before and after total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy (TECALBO) and ventral bulla osteotomy (VBO) in cats and dogs.
Methods: At The Ohio State University and MedVet Columbus, ophthalmic examinations were performed on client-owned animals for which a TECALBO or VBO was indicated. Examination findings and postoperative complications relating to ophthalmic and/or neuro-ophthalmic diseases were recorded prior to surgery (T0) and at 1 day (T1), 2 to 3 weeks (T14), and ± 2 months (T60) postoperatively.

Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is caused by variants in a gene that encodes a protein essential for water and ion transport in the epithelial cells of exocrine organs. Given the possible relationship of this protein and conjunctival and corneal epithelium, the aim of this study was to evaluate ophthalmologic alterations in people with CF.
Methods: Forty-five people with CF underwent pulmonary evaluation including inflammatory score (IS).
