A recombinant chromosome change with dup(2)(q34----qter) secondary to a paternal inv(2) (pter----q34) was found in a 19-year-old boy and his 12-year-old sister. Both were born at term with normal birth weight and head circumference. Hypertelorism, irregular nystagmus, broad flat nasal bridge, and short beaked nose with anteverted nostrils were noted neonatally. Both developed microcephaly and brachycephaly. Cardiac, urogenital, retinal, and optic disc anomalies and onset of progressive kyphosis in adolescence were detected. Their facial appearance, with birdlike "Muppet Gonzo" features, was increasingly accentuated with age. Both had mild mental retardation with IQ's around 70. The clinical findings in these siblings were compared with those described in 23 cases with various 2q partial trisomies. The results of the present study and previous studies indicate a characteristic clinical presentation in children and adults. The reluctance to define the specific phenotype for distal 2q trisomy might be due to the fact that the clinical features tend to be considerably more pronounced towards adolescence than neonatally.

Chronic inflammatory diseases show significant heterogeneity in their phenotypes, with diverse immune cells and mediators interacting in response to various stimuli. This review proposes the concept of the 'inflammazone' framework - which maps the distribution of immune components driving disease pathogenesis - using sarcoidosis and psoriasis as examples. Sarcoidosis features granulomatous inflammation with macrophages and CD4 T cells, which can spread to lymph nodes and other organs.

Objective: Loss of function of the phospholipid scramblase (PLS) TMEM16F results in Scott Syndrome, a hereditary bleeding disorder generally attributed to intrinsic platelet dysfunction. The role of TMEM16F in endothelial cells, however, is not well understood. We sought to test the hypothesis that endothelial TMEM16F contributes to hemostasis by measuring bleeding time and venous clotting in endothelial-specific knockout (ECKO) mice.

Pulpitis is an important and prevalent disease within the oral cavity. Thus, animal models are necessary tools for basic research focused on pulpitis. Researchers worldwide often use dogs and miniature pigs to construct animal models of pulpitis.

Background: Type I interferonopathies including Aicardi-Goutiéres Syndrome (AGS) represent a heterogeneous group of clinical phenotypes. Herein, we present a Case with combined AGS and Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS)-a cohesinopathy-with comprehensive analysis of the immune and genomic abnormalities.
Case And Methods: A 20-year old man presented with chilblain lesions and resorption of distal phalanges of fingers and toes, somatic and psychomotor retardation, microcephaly, synophrys, hearing losing and other aberrancies consistent with the phenotype of CdLS.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the distribution of the coronal plane alignment of the knee (CPAK) phenotype between the healthy population and the arthritic population in Japan.
Methods: The retrospective cross-sectional study included 1049 knees. There were 256 healthy individuals with a total of 512 knees and 310 individuals with a total of 537 arthritic knees who underwent around-knee osteotomy between June 2010 and January 2024.
