A multivariate procedure for estimating heritable components from twin data was applied to ridge counts obtained from the entire dermatoglyphic system. Covariance matrices of MZ and DZ within-pair differences were used to estimate genetic correlation matrices for 20 finger ridge counts, 6 palmar interdigital counts, 20 toe counts, 4 hallucal counts, and 6 sole interdigital counts. The proportion of genetic variation was found to be greater in ridge counts of patterns than in ridge counts of interdigital areas. On digits, finger counts are more highly heritable than toe counts. Each of the dermatoglyphic areas yielded several independent genetic components, ranging from general to specific. Environmental variation was found to be local and to frequently involve reciprocal interaction between twin pairs.

Introduction: While clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for pediatric oncology infection prophylaxis and management exist, few data describe actual management occurring at pediatric oncology centers.
Methods: An electronic survey querying infection management practices in nontransplant pediatric oncology patients was iteratively created by the Children's Oncology Group (COG) Cancer Control and Supportive Care Infectious Diseases Subcommittee and sent to leaders at all COG institutions, limiting each site to one response to represent their institution.
Results: The response rate was 57% (129/227 institutions).

Purpose: Emerging therapeutic strategies for Kabuki syndrome (KS) make early diagnosis critical. Fingerprint analysis as a diagnostic aid for KS diagnosis could facilitate early diagnosis and expand the current patient base for clinical trials and natural history studies.
Method: Fingerprints of 74 individuals with KS, 1 individual with a KS-like phenotype, and 108 controls were collected through a mobile app.

Introduction: Parsonage-Turner Syndrome (PTS) is a rare idiopathic brachial neuritis that classically presents with sudden onset upper extremity pain followed by upper limb weakness, sensory disruption, and muscle atrophy. We hypothesized that the type of antecedent event before symptom onset would determine the degree of spontaneous recovery after PTS.
