Graphene oxide (GO) is widely used to prepare 2D laminar separation membranes because of its single atomic thickness and good processability. However, due to the tortuous transport path and excessive swelling effect, it is difficult to improve permeability, salt rejection, and stability of GO membranes simultaneously. Herein, we chemically laminated GO with covalent organic framework nanosheets (CONs) to fabricate membranes for fast and stable desalination.

A line-shaped beam spot pattern is chosen for the open-path Herriott multi-pass cavity, enabling sensitive detection at various heights above the burner with an effective optical absorption path length of approximately 1.

Since flow characteristics are still largely unexplored for high-pressure homogenization, we investigated particle break-up at different Reynolds numbers and transition ranges in two channels (Y- and Z-channel). While the channel geometries are often treated as "black boxes", opening the channels and measuring their geometries allowed a detailed analysis of flow conditions. Transitions from laminar to turbulent flow for pressures of 250-2,000 bar have measurable effects on the sizes of perfluorocarbon (PFC)-nanoemulsion droplets emulsified by phospholipids processed simultaneously in liposomal conformation.

Articular cartilage (AC) is a specialized connective tissue that covers the ends of long bones and facilitates the load-bearing of joints. It consists of chondrocytes distributed throughout an extracellular matrix and organized into three zones: superficial, middle, and deep. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques can be used to characterize this layered structure.

Layer specific computations are crucial for sensory processing of visual stimuli within primary visual cortex. Laminar recordings of local field potentials (LFPs) are a powerful tool to study neural activity within cortical layers.
