Selective upper abdominal sympathectomy increased basal acid output in rats but was without effect on stimulated acid output, serum gastrin concentration, and gastric mucosal histidine decarboxylase activity. The sympathectomy was verified by fluorescence histochemistry and determination of tissue catecholamines. A drastic reduction in tissue noradrenaline, adrenaline, and dopamine levels occurred after sympathectomy, and fluorescence microscopy showed a complete loss of adrenergic nerve fibers. Vagotomy reduced catecholamine levels in the stomach wall by 50% but did not affect the catecholamine content in the pancreas and small bowel. Surprisingly, combined vagotomy and upper abdominal sympathectomy resulted in lower catecholamine levels than sympathectomy alone in extragastric but not in gastric tissues.

Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) is a precursor lesion to biliary tract carcinoma. It is characterised by papillary growth within the bile ducts. The diagnosis and management of IPNB are challenging due to its varying presentations and overlapping features with other biliary diseases.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC)originates from the epithelial cells of the intrahepatic bile ducts, with insidious onset and strong invasiveness, and most of the cases are found in the advanced stage, with extremely poor prognosis. In advanced stages, distant metastases to the lungs, bones, and brain are common, but distant soft tissue (subcutaneous and skeletal muscle) and breast metastases are rare, and simultaneous metastases to all three rare sites had not been reported. We report a 69-year-old woman with right upper abdominal pain who underwent a plain and enhanced CT scan of the upper abdomen, which revealed an intrahepatic space-occupying lesion, as well as subcutaneous and peritoneal nodules in the abdomen.

Introduction: The strategy of adipose component transplantation has been proposed and widely used in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. However, there is no uniform standard for the preparation of component fat, and the volume calculation of liposuction and injection in clinical applications is mostly based on experience. This study aims to analyze the volume of component fat obtained during clinical series.

A previously healthy 18-year-old man with a 9-month history of upper abdominal pain and significant weight loss underwent gastroscopy, revealing an ulcerative lesion in the duodenal bulb. Enrolled in a clinical trial, both 18F-FDG and 68Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT demonstrated similar metabolic activity, though 68Ga-FAPI-04 offered superior lesion delineation. Pathology confirmed synovial sarcoma.
