Background: Metabolic reprogramming is increasingly recognized as a crucial factor influencing the development, progression, and prognosis of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Despite this, the potential association of specific metabolic characteristics and PDAC remains ambiguous due to the variability introduced by individual patient differences. In this study, we aimed to find out metabolic pathways that may be associated with the overall survival (OS) of PDAC patients.

Antibiotics have revolutionized medicine, saving countless lives since the introduction of penicillin. However, antimicrobial resistance has challenged their efficacy, prompting ongoing efforts to develop new antibiotics. This study explores the antimicrobial effects of a bile acid derivative, BA-3/4-Butyl.

Background: Patients with Fontan circulation are frail and experience multisystem dysfunction including impaired exercise capacity, low resting and exercise-augmented cardiac output, and progressive liver fibrosis. However, common underlying biochemical abnormalities or disease-specific biomarkers have not been well-described.
Objectives: We wish to investigate Fontan and their matched healthy subjects using a nontargeted, followed by targeted metabolomic analysis.

We hypothesized that daily exercise promotes joint health by upregulating anti-inflammatory mediators via adaptive molecular and metabolic changes in the infrapatellar fat pad (IFP). We tested this hypothesis by conducting time-resolved analyses between 1 and 14 days of voluntary wheel running exercise in C57BL/6J mice. IFP structure and cellularity were evaluated by histomorphology, picrosirius red collagen staining, and flow cytometry analysis of stromal vascular fraction cells.

Epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), located in the collecting duct principal cells of the kidney, is responsible for the reabsorption of sodium and plays a critical role in the regulation of extracellular fluid volume and consequently blood pressure. The G protein-coupled bile acid receptor (TGR5) is a membrane receptor mediating effects of bile acid and is implicated in kidney diseases. The current study aims to investigate whether TGR5 activation in the kidney regulated ENaC expression and potential mechanism.
